Located in southwestern Oklahoma, near Lawton, is the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. This is one of our favorite places in our Sooner State! The hiking trails, lakes, camp sites, free roaming buffalo, longhorn, deer, turkey and prairie dogs will not leave your family disappointed. You can spend days here and never run out of fun!

The past few Thanksgivings, we have camped out on the refuge. This year we spent the week out there. This is definitely a trip in Oklahoma you want to make!

Check out there website here https://www.fws.gov/refuge/wichita_mountains/.

They also have a facebook page where they update on closures and different happenings on the refuge. Check it out here https://www.facebook.com/WichitaMountainsWildlifeRefuge/.

Deer and turkey made a daily visit to our campsite!

This is one of the hiking trails we took during the week.
