I guess you could say we are downsizing Christmas. Don't get me wrong, I think this time of year is beautiful. All the lights, smiles and time with family is an awesome change from Halloween decor! However, I feel Christmas has become a holiday that surpasses all other holidays. It has become so full of get me this and get me that. Christmas has become too commercialized. The goal in our home is to make Christmas much less and build up Resurrection Sunday above all other times of the year. I want my kids to know that His resurrection is a much greater celebration than His birth. "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection..." Phil. 3:10 . I want them to know and remember, " ... that my redeemer liveth..." Job 19:25 . I want them to know that our HOPE is in His glorious resurrection and not in His birth. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." 1 Peter 1:3

"And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children." Isaiah 54:13

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." 3 John 1:4
