~Repurpose: Bookshelf to Headboard

Need a headboard for a twin bed? We did! My older two girls share a set of bunkbeds. The bunks have two shelves as the headboard for each bed. Felicity just has a boxspring and mattress on a metal frame. She wanted shelves behind her bed like her big sister. I saw this idea on pinterest. I never dreamed I'd find a bookshelf her beds size but, first attempt, I did. It was a mess. I picked it up at the thrift store for $15. The shelves were handmaid and the stain job was horrid.

After a good bit of sanding and several coats of paint. We were well pleased with our new headboard. She has the shelves decorated with her favorite things now, just like her big sisters. There are so many different ways you can repurpose things, you just have to be creative and think outside the box, or get on pinterest and find someone else's ideas like I did!
