Give Your Battle to the Lord!

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43:2

We need to take the advise the Lord gives in 2 Chronicles chapter 20.

15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

In our journey here on this earth we are all going to have trials and tribulations. God did not exempt any of us from the unpleasantness of this fallen world. Whether it comes in the way of heartache, or finances, or sickness, etc. Whatever overwhelms you right now in your life, give it to God. We read above in 2 Chronicles to Stand Still. I recently saw quote from Dr. SM Davis, with Solve Family Problems that said,

Be still and know that I am God. The original Hebrew root of Be still doesn't mean "be quiet"; it means "let go". That's very different, don't you think? Let go and know that I am God! Let go of trying to control your spouse! Let go of your worry about your finances! Let go of your unforgiveness! Let go of your past! Let go of what you can't control- and rest in the knowledge that God is in control!

I don't know what your going through, or what you might soon go through. I don't even know what lies ahead of me. What I do know is we can find rest in the Lord.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:8

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Psalm 23:1-2

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Psalm 91:1-2

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:29-30

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 41:10

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee [is] mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

I hope you find some encouragement in these verses!

I've been going through a battle of my own over the past several months. Thus, I have been absent from this blog since May. I may share a little about it on here soon. One thing I've learned, we are not in control. The easiest thing to do is give it to God and REST in His loving care!

I hope you have a JOY filled weekend, I sure plan to!

xoxo
